This book would again be great for an art classroom and could be used for thrid grade to teach them about a famous artist. This is also a book they could read during freetime because it is not above their skill level and could really interest them.

A good book about the life and trials of Leonardo Da Vinci.

This is a biography of the famous painter, sculpture, and scientist. As with all of author Diane Stanley's books the tale is told in a real life manner where you get to know how Leonardo interacted with his contemporaries. A look into some of his notebooks reveals just what Leonardo may have been thinking during some of his experiments.

I would use this book in a lesson on biographies, probably around fourth grade. It is text heavy, and the pictures are not extremely intriguing. However, in terms of a biography, it is well organized and written, so it would be beneficial for the students. ( )
