it started off well, promising with some serious twists and turns....then it got repetitive and you could see the next twist coming from a mile away. With 30 pages left we weren't thinking "who-dun-it", we were thinking "are we done yet?" ( )

Docked it for poor writing. Eesh.
Story was decent. But the writing just tanked it for me. ( )

Marco and Anne are married parents of six-month-old Cora. They go to a dinner party at their neighbor’s house one night; however, their babysitter cancelled at the last minute and they decided to leave Cora home and bring their monitor with them. When they arrived home to find their front door ajar and Cora missing, their world is turned upside down.
As the investigation into the abduction of Cora proceeds, there is betrayal, lies and deception. This was the first book I’ve read by Shari Lapena and probably won’t be my last. But that twist at the end…OMG. ( )

Twist and turns, family drama talk about being that family. I was turning page after page and finished this in one sitting ....like candy for your brain. You love thrillers than this book is for you,,

...the set-up is fantastic – it’s just when Lapena has to deliver on the answers that the novel starts to slip.
