Beautiful, extraordinarily fully realized. ( )

This was a very interesting wordless book! This book would be great for middle school or high school! I feel that this book would be a good book to use for history or English class. You could have your students read the book and interpret it the way they think it is. my interpretation of this book was about a family who decided wanted to move to a different country (I was thinking maybe the U.S. ) They had the dad leave first to get settled meet new people and see if it was safe for the rest of his family to join him. I really think this is the type of book you get to interpret in you own way.

I read (or should I say, looked at) this knowing nothing about it except that it was a wordless book. There were so many unexpected twists throughout, and I can say the cover gave me the wrong idea about what to expect. I won't stop judging by covers though.

I like how we (readers) feel just as lost as the protagonist, since all the signage is in a strange language (I assume it's made-up?) and the layout of the city is so different from anything we've seen before. ( )

The artwork and story were beautiful. Such a unique way to tell a story about a man and his family immigrating to a new home. ( )

One of the most beautiful graphic novels that I have read in the recent times. Illustrations are surreal at the same time has a quality of a real photograph. Simply mesmerising and gorgeous. It struck a chord with me, as I could completely empathise with the protagonist. More details about the plot will definitely be a spoiler. A very short read in terms of plot but very very long read if you sumptuously pore through all the beautifully drawn panels. I highly recommend this. ( )

Book description
A fabulous introduction to graphic novels for younger readers. The Arrival wordless spins the universal tale of a man leaving his country to build a better life in an unfamiliar, and sometimes confusing and scary, land.
