I cared for the characters and really got into the story. The premise of the haunting of her ex was an interesting new twist to the "jilted lover" books. It turned into a novel that really spoke to love and loss and new beginnings. Thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange for my honest review. ( ) Didn't get more than 50 pages in. Joanna is dying of malicious cancer and all she can obsess about is her former lover Ned who wronged her. She cyber stalks him with her last ounces of strength and dies with his name on her lips. Revenge from the grave comes next and that's where I quit. The stream-of-consciousness bugged me, as well as the premise. This was a really good book. I've always wondered if spirits stick around who have unfinished business and if they do, can they cause havoc. I believe our loved ones who have passed are watching us just from what mediums have said to me, things they should not know. I read this as part of my Goodreads Group. Thanks to the publisher, St. Martin's Press, via Bookreporter, for a copy in exchange for my honest review. Joanna dies from breast cancer and since her younger lover (by 15 years), Ned, left her during her illness for a young, famous dermatologist, Joanna is seeking revenge. While she's still alive, she cyber-stalks him which is easy to do since his new girlfriend is all over social media. After she dies, her "ghost" is having a hard time moving on because of her anger with Ned for abandoning her. She intends to get revenge and the entertainment begins. This is a different kind of "ghost" story. Joanna has two daughters who are grieving the loss of their mother, each grieving in her own way. She also leaves behind her beloved poodle, Tom, who continues to be there for his mistress even after she's gone. Lovable Tom plays a big part in the novel from the very beginning until the very end. This story is not a downer even though Joanna dies at the beginning. It's fast-paced and explores relationships, vengeance, and forgiveness. The talented author writes so beautifully and has a sense of what the afterlife could be like. no reviews | add a review
