Glenn Doman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1940 and began pioneering the field of child brain development. This work was interrupted by distinguished service as a combat infantry officer in World War II. He founded The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in 1955. By the early 1960s, the world-renowned work of The Institutes with brain-injured children lead to the publication in the Journal of the American Medical Association of the first article ever written on specific results obtained in treating brain-injured children. Since that time he and his dedicated staff have pursued a relentless battle to discover and perfect programs to make brain-injured children well. More than 15,000 families have found their way to The Institutes from 135 nations. The long waiting list that resulted inspired Glenn Doman to write What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child in 1973. He continues to spend all day, every day, with "the finest parents on earth" deeply involved with the joyous process of getting hurt kids well. Among honors from many nations, the Brazilian government knighted him for his outstanding work on behalf of the children of the world. Book jacket. No library descriptions found. |
