Hopeless romantic Eva Jordan loves everything about Christmas. She might be spending the holidays alone this year, but when she's given an opportunity to house-sit a spectacular penthouse on Fifth Avenue, she leaps at the chance. What better place to celebrate than in snow-kissed Manhattan? What she didn't expect was to find the penthouse still occupied by its gorgeousâ??and mysteriousâ??owner.
Bestselling crime writer Lucas Blade is having the nightmare before Christmas. With a deadline and the anniversary of his wife's death looming, he's isolated himself in his penthouse with only his grief for company. He wants no interruptions, no decorations and he certainly doesn't appreciate being distracted by his beautiful, bubbly new housekeeper. But when the blizzard of the century leaves Eva snowbound in his apartment, Lucas starts to open up to the magic she brings...This Christmas, is Lucas finally ready to trust that happily-ever-afters do exist?

I think I liked this one more than the first two in the series. For one thing, it's a bit shorter so the conflict isn't dragged out like it so often is. I am also a sucker for the sunshine-grump character dichotomy, as well as a good holiday romance. In this one, two people struggling with grief in their own ways are forced to spend the lead-up to Christmas together. I really liked both Eva and Lucas and was rooting for them the whole way through. My only complaint is that the New York City Ballet doesn't perform "The Nutcracker" at the Metropolitan Opera House :-P

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for allowing me to review this book.
This book has it all. It has great characters, humour and sadness too, along with a gripping storyline. It'll have you reaching for the tissues in parts, so make sure they are handy. We don't get snow in England at Christmas so reading this book made me quite jealous that the romance is over in Manhattan at Christmastime ( )

I'd been looking forward to the culmination of this series because, honestly, how can you not love Eva and want to see her get her happy ending?

This was a fun story - maybe my favorite of the three! A big oops in the start shows how feisty Eva can be, even with a grump like Lucas. Morgan's story unwraps like a big Christmas present under the giant tree in Lucas' house, and with the usual relationship bumps, delivers a satisfying ending to the trilogy. ( )

Full review at Little Book Jockey. Eva's personality reminds me so much of my own, that it was really special to read her story. ( )
