My Review:
I received a copy of this from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

The book begins with Nextgen psychologist award winner Dr. Evana Taylor being stopped on her way out of work to her car by a bright light and being pulled upwards by a bright light. She's been abducted by aliens, and they want to use her skills to teach them how to behave and integrate themselves into the human population.

Now you know how much I love books about aliens, and this book sucked me in the second I started reading it. The aliens are unique and although we don't get to see them out of their human form, I'm sure they're super interesting looking. I haven't read anything like this book lately, and although I liked the authors other book "True Calling" better, this was still a good read.

The main character is Sadie, who's sixteen and has a problem discussing her feelings, a lifetime of keeping her mouth shut has taught her to ignore them. She works a full time job and dropped out of school at thirteen to help support her family. The world she lives in is a sort of dystopia, where people are in a good safe place but still separated by money. Her family seems like they wished she was never born, as a year after she was there was a law put out that you weren't allowed to have more children. She never would have been born. Her family sees her as a disgrace and someone who really shouldn't be alive. But when she gets picked for "The Experimento", she gets to live in an underwater city away from her family that hates her so much. She makes new friends and even maybe a boyfriend she thinks, and life is good. For now.

I really enjoyed reading the story, it took turns I never expected, and the characters seemed realistic in the way they responded to the problems that came their way. Although the description flat out tells you that Logan is an alien prince, it doesn't actually tell you in the story until almost 70% of the way through the book. I wouldn't have guessed if I hadn't though, hey, wasn't this book supposed to be about aliens? And re-read the description half way through. It took a while to get through, but I'm glad I got to read it. Check it out if you haven't already!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley.

I had a hard time getting into this story from the beginning, but within a few chapters, I realized how dynamic Saven Deception really was. You soon discover that things are not as they appear, people are not who they seem to be, and to be wary of who you trust. Can Sadie figure that out before it is too late for her, and for all of mankind? ( )

The author was kind enough to send me an ARC of this book.

Like all the rest of Davis' books I've read, I was immediately pulled into the world she's created in Saven. I love a book that I can't quite predict what's going to happen next and that's just what I got here. The prologue, I'll admit, threw me off because the rest of the story didn't seem to follow it. Once I started to put the pieces together and see what was going on, there were STILL more and more surprises thrown at me that I wasn't expecting. I also love how seamlessly she combined both the dystopian and the sci-fi genres in a way that would appeal to fans of either genre and not just fans of both or one or the other. The characters themselves were very well developed and you truly felt you knew at least the main characters by the end of the book. As is the case with most series, this first book ended on a cliffhanger. I am very excited to see what will come next in the world created here and what the future holds for Sadie, Logan and their friends. ( )

After falling for Siobhan's first series, I was excited to see what her new endeavour would bring. As always, she has blown away my expectations. She is excellent for writing books with surprise, the Unknown, adventure and a hint of love.

Saven has taken all the brilliance of Siobhan's writing and just taken it that step further. I was completely captivated by this read. Throughout, I was drawn in to the Unknown element and couldn't put the book down. She wrote it perfectly, I order to keep me guessing and reallyexcitedto know what was going to happen next.

I felt that the characters were written very well. The lead female character was easy to fall in love with, as she was strong, courageous and intelligent. I enjoyed reading along as she opened her eyes to the worl around her, and truly saw what was taking place. I liked the supporting characters as well. They had a variety of personalities and characteristics, which really made it interesting to read along, as they interacted. Siobhan gave us a great blend of characters to fall for, despise and a few to take or leave.

The. Pace of the read was superb. It had a great few faster paced moments, to match the urgency and excitement taking place, butt also have times where we stopped and took stock of the details. Plus, we were given time to get to know all our characters and their feelings.

Overall, I am very impressed with this read. Siobhan has definitely got me hooked on another on her reads. I highly highly recommend checking this book out!

I received this book for free, in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. ( )
