Unused. Gift of Helen Gere Cruickshank with enclosed note by same. HGC was a life-long friend of RTP and the only female member of the Bronx Bird Club to which Allen, her husband, was involved with RTP.

Contains detailed pictures/paintings, useful zone maps depicting where bird species reside, and helpful notes about unintentional strays, voice and call characteristics, etc. This book is one of the two best we have used for identifying birds during our hikes. ( )

The Peterson Guide is indispensible. I am an avid birder and this is the only book I take into the field. It is littered with notes, weather, dirt and love. It is faded beyond belief!

If you are looking for the best field guide to birds, this is it. ( )
