This is a little treasure which reminds us of the importance of reading, the solace that can be found in books and the profound understanding we can find in them. This is a collection of troubled youths reaching out to their favorite authors and their responses. It shows how words can have healing effect, but also how, with writing, comes a responsibility. Finally, this collection, with its bibliography at the back, is an excellent resource for teens and their parents, a source from which to find books about abuse, racism, homosexuality and much more. A real find and heart opener. ( )
