A wonderful book in the original classic battletech trilogy.
Robert Thurston does a wonderful job of fleshing out the characters and making even the background side characters have a lot of character to them.
Overall the plot was nicely done but could have been improved a small bit.

I know the Legend of the Jade Phoenix trilogy is a much-loved one among Battletech fans. So far for me, though, I've found it to be pretty average. Bloodname certainly made me think of Aiden (the main character) in a more personable way. After the first book, I really couldn't care less what happened to him, but in Bloodname, as a character, he has come a long way. After reading this book, I feel invested in the characters and am genuinely interested in how the trilogy ends. ( )
