Bukowski seems to know the inevitable in this book which is that he's running on fumes. A higher than usual rate of clunkers ensues, but luckily the best of the material is still good. Nothing to write home about over all and definitely not one of the books you bring out if you're introducing someone to the Buk. ( )

the beauty of bukowski's later poems lies in their honesty. bukowski reflects on his later years with humor, sobriety (if you can imagine that), and a hint of sadness. a must read for fans of bukowski. ( )
