I have found this book fantastically helpful even though I do not prescribe herbs! It's pictures of pattern syndromes make the book worthwhile in themselves. Extra bonuses are the herb quick references and the clear glossary of Chinese medicine terminology in the back. It is one of my go to books to clarify patterns. (
