Straight up history of the potato with illustrations.

This informational book teaches kids fun facts all about the potatoes. This book teaches you how to plant them, how to care for them, and the many different types of potatoes that exist around the world. This is a great book to use if you are starting a garden and want to grow potatoes in your garden. ( )

The book consists the history of the potato, farming, and ways to cook a potato. I would read this book to a class while being on the topic of agriculture and farming. I did an activity in my children's literature class where we went over different vegetables and things that pertained to agricultural things. I enjoyed the activity very much and would like to do an activity similar in the future with my students. ( )

Great nonfiction read to share with students 3rd grade and up. The information is presented in a way that grabs the readers' interest. Who knew the history of the potato could be so fascinating? It was a great companion book to our study of the Inca. ( )

I liked the illustrations in this book. They were all unique and were drawn in only black and white. It's a good research and history book. it mentioned many different cultures who all shared a common food.
