Set Your Voice Free from Roger Love is one of the few books I have run across that delivers by and large on its promise. Unlike many other reviewers here who supposedly have studied with coaches all over the world I came to this book without the foundation and/or history of failing under other coaches, so this book is my first real attempt to improve my voice. In my case I was mostly concerned with my speaking voice because of some recent endeavors I have undertaken. Being able to sing without inflicting pain on others is just a pleasant side effect for me.

I initially read through the book and did not follow the process he lays out quite clearly early on. Maybe that is why so many books have failed for me, I have failed them. I then went back and am working my way through as he suggests and I am noticing results as I progress. The availability of online audio files certainly helps but I think just taking one's time and paying attention to what you're doing is really key.

I would recommend this to anyone who would like to produce better results with their voice, whether singing or speaking, and especially for those who would like to have more confidence when they speak or sing. You don't need to have tried many other coaches and trainers around the world, you just need to be patient, pay attention to the little things and follow through with the process.
