Holiday Hangover is another wonderful jam packed full of adventure continuation of Zak and Zoe.
All of Kathi Daley's books are incredible adventures especially this series.
This book takes place on one of Zak's old friends mountain resort. Zak is asked to come not only enjoy the resort but help him figure out who killed his friends father and why. This book is filled with different emotions some of which I will not get into it because of giving anything away. One I can say is the longing that Zoe is having to get Scooter back hoping he doesn't stay with his father. This is really weighing on Zoe's mind on top of trying to help Zak solve this mystery.
A lot is going on in this book and you will love it.
Will Zak and Zoe team be able to solve this before going back home to Zimmerman Academy? Or will a mystery finally stump them??? ( )

This book was a bit of departure from the usual cozy by Kathi Daly. We still get all the elements we love, the great characters, the mystery and the small town feel, the family love. We also get some ambiguity, a cliffhanger of sorts. The answers are there but the reader must put the pieces together themselves. I also believe author Kathi Daley has a secret we are not yet privilege too.

When Zoe and Zak go on vacation, we expect they will trip over trouble. Even their honeymoon was not murder free. This time, they know before they head to the ski hilltop resort that they are there to solve a mystery. The story is an entanglement of family history. A feud of sorts seems to be behind the murder of the head of one faction of the hill owning family, but the energy feels off. It seems as if the younger heirs are ready to make amends and fuse the family back together.

This has all the elements of a locked room mystery, limited access to the scene of the crime.
If you have ever attended one of Kathi Daley's online scavenger hunts, this has a similar feel. The clues are laid out. You just have to follow them. A gentle trail but you still have to add effort.

This book would be a good introduction to the cozy genre and to this series in particular if you did not want to start back with book one. ( )
