‘Off-Kilter’ is a very good title for this cute story about geeky computer science grad student Eric and his foray into Scottish Country Dance. Not something he would normally consider, but he’s doing his friend and roommate Amara a favor. He promptly finds there are benefits to completely humiliating himself on the dance floor - namely a dance instructor named Rob who happens to be a programmer in real life.

Eric is too funny. Not intentionally, but he’s such a geek, and so not into any physical activity more complicated than walking, that it was hilarious to watch him deal with a dance class of all things. Thankfully Ron takes him in hand, so to speak, and helps him through it. Of course then Eric wants to find out more about the hot man in a kilt, and he feels almost no remorse for using Facebook to find out where Rob hangs out over the weekend. It looks like the beginning to a great romance…

If you like men in kilts, if hot dance instructors are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as cut as it is short, then you will probably like this short story.
