Onwards I go with my nostalgia trip!

This one was interesting - Misao was ready for battle against Sho. Will the tengu save Misao? Will she get her memories back? How is Sho so evil yet she used to like him? So many questions! I am intrigued if I'll be able to actually finish this series. I think I'm missing the last book of this entire series out of my collection. I will continue to work my way through them though!

The rape-y vibes are kind of weird for me, but I am liking going back through these. Especially since I don't one hundred percent remember what happened.

Three out of five stars. ( )

The 6th volume continues the 5th's culminating cliffhanger, where Misao purposely allowed herself to be trapped inside of the prison cell that is holding Kyo's malignant older brother Sohou. Will she falter, or does she have an ace under her sleeve?

This volume is action packed and moves at lightning speed. I really liked how the plot developed. The scenes of the aftermath where Kyou and the other guys take care of Misao while she is riddled with fever is endearing.

This manga continues to be a really fun read, and it's likely I'll continue reading until the end. ( )

Misao feels useless and very human when it comes to her relationship with Kyo, as she is trying to be useful, Sho, Kyo's evil brother takes her hostage and tries to take revenge on her for choosing Kyo and on Kyo for taking the leadership.

The brothers are on the brink of a bloody war and all the other demon clans are waiting for blood. ( )

That cliff-hanger ending of Volume 5 is resolved here nicely, but the tension builds and builds as Misao struggles to fend-off the advances of the traitorous Sho, who has made a deal with another demon clan, they aided him in his quest to possess the Senka Maiden, in exchange for delivering her to them to eat alive for the immortality promised by consumers of her flesh. Using only her wits and a surprising gift from a previous volume, Misao tries to keep him at bay until Kyo can defeat the interlopers and rescue her from the earth prison holding her and Sho. In the end, secrets are revealed to the reader and a surprising request is made that leaves Kyo, Misao and the Eight Daitengu shocked!

*** I really enjoyed the volume, as much as I enjoyed Volume 5. Even though most of it deals with Misao being trapped under the ground with Sho, Misao showed that she is no weak human, using her wits and a secret weapon to help keep him a bay, even kissing him and pretending to give herself to him, all to buy time for Kyo to rescue her.

*** Another point I really thought was well-written was the addition of Sho's backstory, perhaps helping to reveal a little bit of the reason why he became such a sociopath. I almost felt sorry for him, all of the pressure placed on him by his grandfather. Then again, the same pressure (and more insults) were placed on Kyo and he used them as fuel to grow-up to be the better man than Sho. Regardless, more details of the brother's "shared" history was shown in a very well-done manner.

*** And yet ANOTHER totally AWESOME (though not quite as arresting as Volume 5's) cliff-hanger heading. Talk about your awkward situations! ( )
