This book had a few twists but most were fairly obvious. Unfortunately, the author turned what could have been a really good storyline into a fairly boring book. I had to struggle to get through it and I've already forgotten most of the salient points. Not worth my time.

I would like to dedicate the novel Violent Crimes to my friends Silvernail, Julie, Susan, Bea, Sandy, Carol, Tim, Norman, Jeanne, Jack, and Kim-Jennifer. To Adele, Veronica, and Warren with love. To all of the members ... (show all)of the MWA Midwest Chapter, especially Barbara D'Amato, Mark Zubro, Michael Allen Dymmoch, D.C. "Debbie" Brod, Marilyn Nelson, Buddy Vogt, Bill Spurgeon, and Dave Walker.

A special dedication to the memory of Police Officer James T. "Tom" Ford, my father's partner, who was like an uncle to me and served as the model for Blackie Silvestri.

And for all the members of the Chicago Police Department, living and dead, who have made the CPD the best police department in the world.
