With unmatched suspense and emotional insight, Harlan Coben explores the big secrets and little lies that can destroy a relationship, a family, and even a town in this powerful new thriller. Suburban New Jersey Detective Napoleon "Nap" Dumas hasn't been the same since senior year of high school, when his twin brother Leo and Leo's girlfriend Diana were found dead on the railroad tracks--and Maura, the girl Nap considered the love of his life, broke up with him and disappeared without explanation. For fifteen years, Nap has been searching, both for Maura and for the real reason behind his brother's death. And now, it looks as though he may finally find what he's been looking for. When Maura's fingerprints turn up in the rental car of a suspected murderer, Nap embarks on a quest for answers that only leads to more questions--about the woman he loved, about the childhood friends he thought he knew, about the abandoned military base near where he grew up, and mostly about Leo and Diana--whose deaths are darker and far more sinister than Nap ever dared imagine.… (more)

Quick, very enjoyable read. Believable characters and unexpected twists. My first Coben but I will be looking for more. ( )

Interesting, mysterious foreword by Coben, followed by a bar scene where a scam goes awry, leading to a cop being killed. Then the story switches to Detective Napoleon “Nap” Dumas and his losses in life: the death of his twin brother Leo (and Leo's girlfriend, Diana) in high school, and the disappearance of Nap's girlfriend, Maura disappeared without a trace with no explanation or goodbye. BAM! His life has been changed forever. Nap has never been able to get over his brother's death or his girlfriend's disappearance. When Maura's fingerprints are found at the scene with the dead cop, Nap starts unraveling the secrets, lies and conspiracies. Like all Coben books, there are surprises at the end. I did not like Nap talking to his dead brother throughout the book, nor his easy acceptance of Maura's reasons for disappearing and never trying to contact him. ( )

There's just nothing like reading a Harlan book. His work gives me the same kind of feeling you get when you come home. I'd read the phone book straight through if this guy had written it.

"Don't Let Go" is a fast-paced read that you'll want to fly through in one sitting. Nap, the narrator, is a likeable detective and could easily have his own series. And there's a Myron Bolitar cameo that will make you yelp with glee.

Amazing!! Definitely one of the best Harlan Coban books I’ve ever read. It has all of the best qualities of a great suspenseful mystery. ( )
