When Joe Kilgour, owner of the Diamond K Ranch in Colorado, mysteriously disappears in the Texas Panhandle while on a cattle-buying mission, his son Jack sets out to find him. The search takes him to the JW Ranch owned by powerful and unscrupulous cattleman Jason Weaver, where he finds his father's body buried in a remote valley.
