It was a simple chore for Vance Jardeen. He had only to go to Camp Sage and process a hundred or so Indians before they could be transferred to a reservation. However, the outbreak of smallpox thwarts his plan. Battling the disease, Vance becomes the target for the settlers' anger over the protection of the Indians. Vance only wants to finish his job and court a young lady but there are other forces at work, and when a ruthless killer strikes, Vance must catch the culprit... before he contaminates the entire territory.… (more)
