This second 15 ways to say I love you book is illustrated by Yuval Israeli. The colors (red and black) are the same as those of the first volume, but the style is completely different, with thick bright lines inviting children to try their hands at art as well as reading. Again, the pictures invite young readers to construct their own stories—will you fight a dragon for me? Will you play me a tune? Will you shelter me from the rain? Meanwhile the anonymous two people of the pictures smile and dance in their romance, until a Chinese yin and yang (my favorite image in the book) unites them. Perhaps adults are invited to create their own tales too. Delightfully simple text, fascinating illustrations, and another globe introducing geography as well as languages—what more could you ask.
