Marguerite Long, Pianista y docente francesa nacida en Nimes en el año 1874. Llegó a ser buena amiga de Claude Debussy, del cual llegó a ser una excelente ejecutante de sus creaciones, como también invirtió mucho tiempo para la enseñanza de su interpretación. Con posterioridad hizo lo mismo con Maurice Ravel y con Gabriel Fauré. En la actualidad se escuchan muy pocas grabaciones de esta gran personalidad del mundo pianístico francés. Sin embargo es muy recordada su grabación de la “Ballade” de Fauré.
