Rosa Luxemburg dal carcere di Wronke, Germania, scrive le sue memorie di rivoluzionaria intellettuale, dall'infanzia trascorsa in Polonia fino ai fermenti sociali di fine '800 che precederanno la Rivoluzione d'Ottobre del 1917. Racconta dell'esperienza del carcere zarista per la sua attività rivoluzionaria socialista accanto a Leo Jogiches col quale convive e dal quale poi si separa. Dedicatasi poi al giornalismo di sinistra, finisce in carcere anche a Berlino. Coinvolta nei moti rivoluzionari del 1918 viene assassinata dai militari al potere nel 1919. Suggestiva la ricostruzione dell'ambiente.
