A creative collection of lyrical poetry, short stories and fantasy tales, Amber Dragon(Dragon Chronicles Book 2) by Adam Boustead is a great little reading escape. A lone dragon is the common theme here, and ties together much of the book. From the prologue we meet Ben and Quinn who are sitting around a campfire; soon they are joined by a policeman, and the elder Quinn begins to tell his engaging stories. These stories are scattered throughout the book and are creepy stories, small bits of poetry, dark fairy tales and more. These stories range from mystical to simply gory and offer a little bit of something for every reader. Each story is full capable of standing on its own, but all combine to form a lingering, magical effect. Imaginative writing for readers who are looking for an escape from reality. ( )

One might think, to grab book one of any series, I was, and though, I read book two first, book one held no true hindrance to book 2. The short stories and poetry derived from eldering campfire enthusiast Quinn, we find a lone dragon is a lead and connecting individual throughout these select truly dark stories and eerie of fairy tale lore. A true master at the story telling art, Adam Boustead delivers both short horror and science fiction. You have your chose with these stories, enjoy the horror!
