This book was decent. I loved how badass Marissa got at the end. I kind of wish she would have kept some of the humor from the beginning, though. I liked the back and forth banter with Marissa and Corgan. It seemed kind of rushed for everything that happened. Overall, it was a short, cute read with a small battle. Good for a novella length, though! ( )

A Vampire’s Tale by Maya Tyler

Sitting before her computer typing by candlelight one night an author thinks of her next vampire hero only to have him materialize from the darkness. A skeptic and unbeliever at first she is soon writing Corgan’s biography as he passes it on to her. Corgan fears for Marissa having seen a future for her he could not abide and hopes that by being nearby fate can be thwarted. Romance between Corgan and Marissa is a given but how the two will change her dire future requires a few wizard’s, Corgan’s vampire maker and a whole lot of planning, strength and cunning.

I believe this is a story that will appeal to Young and New Adult readers who like books filled with fantasy, romance and action. I felt that there could have been a bit more description of some scenes but that all in all the story was well written and plotted and would like to thank the author for the ARC she provided. This is my honest review.
