Bartender Mackenzie Ellinsworth has always gone it alone. So when she has a chance to open her own bar and restaurant, she's got a plan for how it should go. Not in that plan: a ripped and rugged playboy stepping in to take over. Mack doesn't do players, and she doesn't do one-night stands. If Connor wants to work with Mack, he's going to have to keep his strong, sexy hands to himself. Connor Branding is determined to prove he's not the directionless playboy Mack thinks. But opening a place together causes more problems than it solves. The two of them can't agree on anything-except how scorching hot their chemistry is. Connor may be ready to indulge every desire Mack's been denying herself . . . but turning business into pleasure is likely to get him burned. Contains mature themes.… (more)

ARC Review: Make Me Beg (Men of Gold Mountain) by Rebecca Brooks

The sparks start early and the passion quickly catches flame between Mack and Connor. I love the way she knows what she wants and means what she says. Connor has a mouth that's as dirty as his fantasies, but a heart as pure as the driven snow. With Make Me Beg, Rebecca Brooks strikes the match that sets the stage for some real explosive action in and out of the bedroom. Personality meets temptation, with a ton of heart for good measure. HOT FUN!! ( )

I really liked the relationship between Mack and Connor; the whole somewhat enemies to lovers set in the restaurant industry was fun. The banter between them was full of tension. I really think that since they were building a business together that they could've talked out their differences and saved themselves a lot of heartbreak in the end, but then we wouldn't have had this book. I think I'll be reading more from this author.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. ( )

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I enjoyed book. At first I was a little annoyed with Mack, and her wishy washy attitude of going back and forth, but as you read about her life, you understand why she was scared to take a chance on having more with Connor. Then you have Connor, who also wanted more but did not want to put himself out there, because he was not planning on sticking around. They needed more communication, especially since they knew each for three years. When they finally opened up to each other after giving up on each other, was when they realized that they not only loved each other, but never admitted it, that they had held back of themselves. Loved that they got their HEA, and can not wait for next book with Abby. ( )
