This is my first time reading a book in the historical-romance genre. I was pleasantly surprised! It's set in San Antonio,Texas during the time the Texians were fighting the Mexicans for Independence. I've never read any historical fiction set in that time period, so it was really interesting to me. Especially since the female characters were strong. I really got into the characters and their struggles, the dangers they faced, love, politics, and all the conflicts surrounding it all. I really look forward to the next books in this series. I'm definitely interested in reading the authors future novels! ( )
