Angels of our Lives A Pearl Maker short story by Melissa Storm
Short story of how a dog comes to the rescue of a little girl who has lost the use of her legs.
The dog helps with therapy til they discover she can feel her toes that the dog is licking as it tickles her.
Follows from the young girl, the heartache of nobody liking her in school as she's changed in the wheelchair but she gains friends who know what's really inside her.
Follows her all the way til she goes off to college, sweet touching story.
About the author is included at the end. ( )

I loved this short story so much. It's about a six-year-old girl, Emily, (who suffers a spinal injury in a car accident from which she may never walk again), and the guardian angel that comes to her as her new pet dog, Lulu. It is told from the dog's point of view as Emily grows up to become a young woman and slowly recovers along the way. This beautifully written and touching story really packed an emotional punch and you may need some tissues handy. Lulu stole my heart. I loved it! ( )

This was a hard book for me to read. Being an animal lover and having lost, through the years, five of our doggie loved ones. I found it sad but also uplifting. I thought it was very well written and would recommend it to others to read. ( )
