Americans - or, I should say USonians - generally don't know the work of the great Argentine cartoonist Quino, and it's a shame, because the man's work is eminiently worth knowing. Grasping for analogies, one might compare his visual style to American political cartoonists like Pat Oliphant, whom he resembles in no other way, and his sly and subversive humor to the better-known Cuban cartoonist Antonio Prohias (author of countless Spy v. Spy strips for Mad Magazine, but also the author of a great body of work outside that frame). The work is brilliant, it is absurd, and it is very, very funny . ( ) no reviews | add a review
No library descriptions found. |
