![]() Books Read in 2018 (2,245) No current Talk conversations about this book. Another great volume, but unfortunately this one will be the last. I really wish they would continue this series. At least the Jestons is next on their list. Maybe they will do the famous crossover. If not, this series is worth it if you ask me. ( ![]() I wasn't in love with the first volume, but I figured I'd give this series another go. Still not a fan, but it was interesting to see the social commentary they bring up; from religion, to economics, to family dynamics, war, and materialism. For being light-hearted it could get a little heavy in the stone-age. Very satirical, at times, amusing, and far deeper than the original cartoon ever was. It's ok, but it's just not my jam. Not as fun as the first volume. It needed to get off the soapbox a little more and remember to entertain and not preach. At first I was disappointed that this was the end of the run already, but after reading it maybe that was a good place to leave it. no reviews | add a review

The second volume of one of the best-reviewed series of 2017 continues here when author Mark Russell returns to the celebrated reimagined Hanna-Barbera story of the classic stone age family from Bedrock in THE FLINTSTONES VOL. 2: BEDROCK BEDLAM. With art from Scott Hanna, Rick Leonardi and Steve Pugh, the Flintstones are back for more clever satire and surprisingly relevant tales about Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty. The Flintstones, the semi-civilized denizens of Bedrock face the peril of an asteroid hurtling toward Earth and a renewed battle against the Lizard People! Plus, the family appliances are terrified of Fred's new bowling ball, and hipsters move into the neighborhood!. No library descriptions found. |
