Wonderful! Best in the Louisa Clark series. ( )

I purchased this book from @bookofthemonth to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Still Me by JoJo Moyes. Lou has done upscale English living, Paris living, and now we upscale Manhattan, Fifth Avenue living. Lou has taken her life to New York. Getting her bearings, learning a new job, finding friends, all while trying to hold together her relationship with Sam. Living 3000 miles apart is terrible for a new romance but tragedy breeds growth. Especially in Lou's small world. We get a surprise with her sister Treena's new romance and Mom and Dad are still settling in their new world. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two books but Moyes was entertaining as always in Lou's world. This book chronicles the further adventures of Louisa Clark who has left England and is now living in New York City. The best word I can come up with to describe it is "authentic" - with respect to the emotions, experience, and people involved in the story. I loved it! Highly recommended, but you definitely need to read the first two novels in the series. ( )

My favorite book of the three. ( )

I love Louisa Clark! She is quirky, fiercely loyal, and flawed. She puts her heart out and it gets hurt. But, she perseveres. She is now in NYC, working as an assistant to a very wealthy woman, Alice Gopnik. Alice has issues of her own. Louisa misses her boyfriend, Sam, very much, and the distance between them weighs on their separation and makes it very difficult.
Life goes on in England with Louisa's family, and she is homesick for them. However, she is warming up to NYC the longer she is there. She makes friends with the doorman and his wife and the vintage clothing shop owners. Mrs. Margot DeWitt across the hall makes things difficult for Louisa, but Louisa continues to be kind to others. Many things happen in Louisa's life, and she must examine her life to determine what it is she really desires.
Sweet and endearing, I really enjoyed this book. Not as much of a tear-jerker as Me Before You, but it has its moments of heartbreak.

Book description
Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She steps into the world of the superrich, working for Leonard Gopnik and his much younger second wife, Agnes. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her new job and New York life.

As she begins to mix in New York high society, Lou meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. Before long, Lou finds herself torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she actually feels at home. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself: Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you find the courage to follow your heart—wherever that may lead?

Funny, romantic, and poignant, Still Me follows Lou as she discovers who she is and who she was always meant to be—and to live boldly in her brave new world.
