In this second book in the series, the adventures of Jonathan and Lily continue. They are newly wed, and getting to know and understand each other as they face the challenges of returning to civilization as they escape the wilderness and establish themselves in the small river town Lily grew up in. New characters will also be added to this story, two fur trappers, who are trying to make a life for themselves with purpose and meaning. There will be difficult circumstances they will all face as they all learn to deal with the challenges of life in the Oregon Territory.

This book and this series gives one a good outlook on the harsh conditions people went through living in the Oregon Territory. As the author did in book one, he will leave you hanging at the end of this book also, which makes me want to once again get a hold of the next book, "Home in the Wilderness", and begin reading it.
