When Rex is invited to go along on the traditional pumpkin-picking trip with Pinky's grandparents, she doesn't feel that Pinky's cousin Abby really wants her to be part of the fun. Jealousy almost destroys the friendship of Rex and Pinky's family when the Halloween pumpkin hunt causes problems. It's time for the traditional pumpkin picking trip with Pinky's grandparents and they have invited Rex along as usual. They will pick out the perfect pumpkin and then carve it into a jack-olantern and have cocoa and doughnuts as always. However, this year Pinky's cousin Abby is making Rex feel left out. She is rude to her and tries to exclude her from all the activities. Rex in turn smashes the pumpkin out of hurt. In the end everyone apologizes and explains their behavior and they all become friends once again. This is a story about 3 grandchildren , a friend and the grandparents, who take them to a pumpkin patch for halloween. Conflict erupts as one of the grandchildren is not getting a long with the friend and begins to ignore her. They used to be friends. To get attention the friend smashes the pumpkin and life lessons are taught at the ending. This is a good book for children who are progressing in their reading. no reviews | add a review
