When I saw a graphic novel featuring a story about John Carter of Mars, I figured it was right up my alley since I have been fascinated by Burroughs' Mars series since I was a kid and I always liked comics. Alas, I did not find much of a story here and found the bonus materials to be the most interesting part. But, the fault may lie with the reviewer, not the book or its creators. I am not a graphic novel reader and find the concept intriguing, but in practice, it has not worked for me. I just don't get the graphic novel genre just as I don't get chick-lit and I am probably the only person in history to use both genres in the same sentence. ( ) no reviews | add a review
