The selection of Middle English saints' lives edited in this volume is designed, like other volumes in the Middle English Texts Seres, for relative newcomers to medieval English language and literature (and in this case to hagiography), but it is hoped that the volume will also be of use to more experienced students and scholars seeking to engage more closely with saints' legends whose previous printed editions have provided little or no scholarly apparatus or aids to further research.
