This is a well put together anthology of eight vampire-themed stories. They run the gambit of heat levels (chaste kissing to smut on the page), genre (Sci-Fi, drama, action, etc), and kink. None of the writing quality was lacking and there were no distracting editing or proofreading issues. Overall this was a fun and quick read.

What follows if a brief recap and my thoughts on each of the enclosed stories.
“We’ll Always Have Rome” by Wendy Nikel – what I would think of a spin off on a second chance romance premise. I found myself having difficulties connecting to the female protagonist in this story, but the male protagonist was multidimensional and won over my heart with the ending. M/F
“Light Play” by Jaap Boekestein – a vampiric version of some BDSM kink that I thought was very original and well thought out. I connected to the protagonist and was there with her throughout the pleasure play and submission. M/f
“Forever Dead” by Sara Dobie Bauer – opposites attract and they fall hard. Their romps are quick, dirty, and hot and often throw in a bit of property damage. In this vampire hunter/vamp love story, love can conquer all. Both of these protagonists were believable, relatable, and multi-dimensional and their very romantic rough-and-tumble love story was IMHO of epic proportions. This was my favorite story in the book, one I will flag to re-read. I look forward to more from this author. M/M
“In a Quiet Village” by Violet R. Jones – this reminded me of the Vamps of yore…the unknown, mysterious, and pale undead that prey on attractive virgins etc. Although entertaining, the characters in this story stayed relatively one dimensional. I didn’t find myself immediately connecting to them and their plight, but the plot and action kept me reading through to the end. M/F
“Palladian Excursions” by V. Hummingbird – vampire alien tour guides and couples romantic vacation exploring the galaxy. Great plot with a fun take on this idea. The conflict was a bit forced and silly to me, but I was invested enough in the idea and story to finish it. It felt a bit rushed at the end. M/F M/M/F
“Sweeter Than Blood” by Dale Cameron Lowry – this read almost like a coming of age vamp story. The protagonist is a vampire who is not all that pleased with his undead status but comes to find himself and reignite his passions for both love and living by the end of one steamy misadventure. The author does a great job of connecting the reader to the protagonist and keeping the tension high. M/M
“The Eyes of a Stranger” by R. Michael Burns – The writing style of this story read a bit more literary to me and I had a hard time following the real conflict, the whys of what happened didn’t click for me. I loved the idea of a brooding vampire artist finding his muse. The internal struggle and drama that ensued kept my attention but isn’t something I’d read a second time. M/F
“A Taste of Revolution” by Tiffany Michelle Brown – The longest story in the book also happens to have a feisty and surprising kick-ass chemist heroine, so not a surprise that I enjoyed this story. The protagonist has a great voice, acts and reacts in a mostly believable fashion, and the plot held my attention until about 60% through. Then the story got a bit too contrived for me. Still an enjoyable read with good action and characters. M/F

I received an advanced review copy of the ebook version in exchange for an honest review. ( )

I am normally not a fan of short stories, but all of these were a pleasure to read, and left me wanting more! ( )

I won an ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy] mobi.file for this book, from the book’s editor Ariel Jade, and the following is my opinion.

As the title for this anthology suggests, the stories in this anthology have been brought together to satisfy the fondness, or to be more succinct to satisfy the almost abnormal love readers have for a specified genre of stories, and in book’s case it would be more stories involving vampires.

The vampires in these stories span a wide variety of these creatures, they can be anything from the worst kind of boys possible to the ultimate kind of femme fatale; individuals who can both mesmerize and repulse us simultaneously.

Let us not forget that throughout history they’ve been akin to the infamous Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; sweet/innocent one moment and a notorious scoundrel the next, and then back again.

Reading the stories in this anthology takes the reader in their world, a world where vampires and their hunters come together for some prohibited love making, a world where their threesomes can be found in unusual places, a world where only they can enjoy certain kinks none of us could.

If you enjoy a wide variety of vampire tales, then you’ve found your treasure chest of 9 of them here in this collection, a collection to which I’ve given 5 STARS to each of their authors and the stories they’ve given us.

Remember to keep your crosses and garlic gloves as close to you as possible, should they happen to appear as your read these tales. ( )
