I received this ebook in exchange for my honest review and feedback with it's Author, and wished to receive the book not E-book since i'm old school book reader, but I guess it wasn't available. I was so excited when I won this book as a reviewer because my family and especially my great grandmother used to prescribe Turmeric as a medicine in her town, so I grew up in a family with herb knowledge. I really recommend this book to whoever is seeking for a better diet and healthy lifestyle. thankfully now a days we can find Turmeric in different forms and we can take advantage of its benefits.

My dental hygienist suggested adding turmeric to my diet using a pill form for anti-inflammatory purposes. This book really gave me new information I can use to help with my Lichen planus. I was a mess with itching until I started adding this to my diet and controlling what I eat. I would rather eat it naturally so this book appealed to me. I have been adding powdered turmeric to some foods as well as taking tablets but not I know I should be adding pepper and using certain oils when I stirfry with help with the absorption of the curcumin. I was just adding to sauces which are good but why not improve absorption. .I like that he also offered suggestions of recipes to try including drinks which I will be trying in the future.
Essential Spices & Herbs: Turmeric is a wonderful primer on Turmeric; its origin, uses, and health benefits. This book is a quick read, well organized and can serve as a reference for future use. In addition to background information, this book provides recipes for topical and edible items. Although not common in traditional North American dishes, turmeric can be added to many American dishes with great results! Given its health benefits, most people should be adding more to their diet. I highly recommend this book to those who are unfamiliar with turmeric, and those who have used turmeric but don't know much about it.
There is a small amount of information in this short book but much it is repeated within the book. The author makes claims based on “evidence” but never sires the evidence. He does have a list of sources at the end but the reader is left on their own to try to guess which source supports which “ fact”.
All in all this reads like a blog post someone has written that is mostly opinion without a lot of data to support it. You can read the same infirmation on the first few hits of a web search.

This booklet is a good guide for a turmeric beginner: some background and some recipes to get started without being overwhelmed by facts or choice of recipes. I received this as a LibraryThing Member GiveAway. Thank you.

A very good guide in explaining the uses and benefits of Turmeric both in consuming and medicinal sides.
I have always believed there were natural cures for many illness's we encounter and Curry seems to be one of them. I highly recommend this book. Pape after page one finds new information and helpful facts. I also love curry. I recall my fist encounter with the spice in 1983 in Germany. I believe it was a curry wurst I was given. The I found a place with curry rice. Then to my great joy I went to India, Pakistan and several Eastern country and enjoyed exploring their use of spice. For anyone new to this spice, Curry, I highly recommend the books by Veebe, five stars. Best regard Morris
