Lord Mahon hat in seiner Geschichte Englands seit dem Ut rechter Frieden wiederholt auf sie R cksicht genommen. In Deutschland, wo gleich nach dem Tode des Lord Chesterfield von ihnen eine Ueber setzung erschien, sind sie allm hlich in Vergessenheit gerathen. Selbst bei p dagogischen Schriftstellern habe ich sie nur hier und da erwahnt gefunden, und mehr als ein Werk, das noch allenfalls in der Geschichte der P dagogik einen Platz verdiente, als dasz man aus ihnen noch heut diesen Tag daraus Belehrung, Forderung und Bildung sch pfen k nnte.
