King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne by factions within his own country as well as without. Using powers reserved to Wakandan kings, T'Challa assumes the Black Panther mantle to join with ex-girlfriend Nakia, the queen-mother, his princess-kid sister, members of the Dora Milaje (the Wakandan 'special forces') and an American secret agent, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war. I saw this in the cinema originally and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed my rewatch on DVD too. A decent plot - the fights are not too long and lots of female characters. It's just a lot of fun. ( )

Thoroughly enjoyed this tale of betrayal and redemption set mostly in Wakanda, an afro-futuristic world where a meteorite landed in Africa centuries ago with a lot of Vibranium in it, the people of this country have hidden their technological skills from the world, preferring to present a backward face to the world. Prince T'Challa has just become king after his father is killed However there are forces using Wakandan tachnology to do things in the world and now they have to fight internal and external forces.

It was a lot of fun, a park your brain, keep an eye out for the Stan Lee cameo, enjoy the visuals feast for the eyes. ( )
