Disclaimer: I was provided this book for free in return for my honest review.

With that out of the way, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The fast pace and interesting story line kept me engrossed to find out what would happen next. If I find another Vega and Middleton book, it’s probably going to join my collection! ( )

Hinkin's novel is an exciting read about the deadly nature of getting caught up with the Mexican drug cartel.

Lucy Vega, a photojournalist in LA, is unknowingly thrown in to the dangerous path of fighting drug runners in CA when a family tragedy shines light on the battle between politics and drug trafficking in her area. You follow Lucy's journey as she tries to find out the truth of what happened to her uncle while learning just how far a million dollar drug cartel will go to keep their operation going.

The story moved well and the characters, including Lucy's coworkers at the local news station, are entertaining and fun to read about. Though the content was heavy and the resolution at the end leaves something to be desired as far as pacing is concerned, it was a face paced and entertaining read. ( )

This book held my attention and kept me reading more. One would think that if this took place in real life that once bad things started to happen to those around her that she would have gone to the authorities for some help though. ( )

This is an action packed book. It starts in California, goes to Mexico, and then back to California. Lucy’s uncle gets killed and she works to figure out why. If you like action, then this is the book for you ( )
