Montana Sky
4 Stars

Half-sisters, Tess, Lily and Willa Mercy are forced by the terms of their fathers’ will to live on the family ranch together for one year. Against the backdrop of a Montana ranch, the sisters learn to love and trust each other and the men in their lives as danger looms from outside forces.

Just as enjoyable as the first time around.

Each of the Mercy sisters is engaging in her own right whether it be the spoiled and sophisticated Tess whose met the one man patient enough to accept her foibles and all; timid and vulnerable Lily who learns that the right man can indeed be trusted, and strong and fearless Willa who realizes that she can let her guard down and rely on the man she loves.

The suspense elements in the book are intense and exciting with two equally deranged villains, and the writing is some of Nora’s best with delightful descriptions, incisive characterization and snappy dialogue.

All in all, an entertaining family saga with charming characters and fantastic descriptions that more than withstand the test of time. ( )

A blended family of women come together to help each other complete the terms of their inheritance. A truly enjoyable read .. each woman has her own needs, her own goals her own heart to consider. But, they unite and fight together when necessary and wrestle with their new family status as they must. ( )

The world stands out on either side
No wider than the heart is wide;
Above the world is stretched the sky, --
No higher than the soul is high.
The heart can push the sea and land
Farther away on either hand;
The soul can split the sky in two,
And let the face of God shine through.
But East and West will pinch the heart
That can not keep them pushed apart;
And he whose soul is flat -- the sky
Will cave in on him by and by.

Book description
When Jack Mercy died, he left behind a lot of enemies... and a ranch worth nearly twenty million dollars. Now his three daughters - each born of a different marriage, and each unknown to the others - are gathered to hear the reading of the will. Willa, the only one who knew her father, boldly expects that everything will be hers. Tess, who has reluctantly flown in from Hollywood, just hopes to fly back with as much cash as possible - as soon as possible. And Lily Mercy would be grateful for anything; she has learned to expect disappointment, even cruelty, from men. But the women are shocked to learn that before any of them can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for one year. They are sisters... and strangers. Now they face a challenge: to put their bitterness aside and live like family. To protect each other from danger - and unite against an enemy who threatens to destroy all. And finally, to weave together three very different worlds in this beautiful and isolated place called Montana...
