Spin off from Rogan series ( ) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 0🌶 This novella bridges the gap between the Nevada Hidden Legacy trilogy (1-Burn for Me, 2-White Hot, 3-Wildfire), and the second Catalina trilogy (4-Sapphire Flames, 5-Emerald Blaze, 6-Ruby Fever). We start to focus on Catalina as a senior in HS as the whole Baylor family prepares for Nevada & Rogan's wedding. Catalina loves Nevada's new mother-in-law, but then she gives Catalina a difficult task. A family heirloom tiara that Nevada is supposed to wear in the wedding has gone missing and it must have been taken by one of the many family members in town for said wedding. Catalina has to investigate the family while not stepping on any feathers. Not the easiest task in a family of rich and entitled snobs. This is a fun short interlude between the events of the Nevada trilogy and the eventual following Catalina trilogy. Definitely add this into your read of the series for the best experience. Diamond Fire 3 Stars The preparations for Conor and Nevada's wedding are in full swing, and Catalina has her hands full organizing the details and keeping Rogan's extended family from running amok at his mother's palatial home. Not only has a priceless family heirloom vanished from the vault, but someone has tampered with the wedding cake. Can Catalina get to the bottom of it all before Nevada walks down the aisle? This is an obvious linking book with the focus transitioning away from Nevada and Rogan to Catalina and Alessandro, although the latter only has a small cameo appearance in the story. The mystery itself is pretty straightforward although the abundance of Ramirez family members with their double-barrelled names requires a chart to keep track of who's who. The resolution is satisfying albeit rather predictable. Looking forward to the next full-length installment. A 2018 novella, book 3.5 in the Hidden Legacy series. A robbery investigation uncovers family drama and an assassination attempt. B (Good). The main mystery doesn't really work, since it's a whodunnit with too many characters to tell apart. And there's very little action. But I enjoyed it. Catalina is a good character, with some nice development and a fresh way of looking at magic. (Apr. 2023) Good news! There are more Hidden Legacy books coming! Bad news: they’re not out yet. This was a fun preview of Catalina’s voice, since the next novel will be from her POV. The story was a nice little mystery
