Der elfjährige Waisenjunge Achim ist eben erst raus aus dem Kinderheim zu Ines und Paul gezogen, und noch ist alles fremd und neu für ihn. Doch damit nicht genug: Hinter einer seltsamen Tür entdeckt Achim das Adoptivzimmer, ein Zimmer, das wie er selbst vom Haus nur geduldet zu sein scheint, ohne richtig dazuzugehören. Es ist Teil einer anderen Welt, die von dem mächtigen und bösen Namenlosen beherrscht wird. Als Achim einen Jungen trifft, der von dem Namenlosen gefangen gehalten wird, beschließt er, ihm zu helfen. Auch wenn das bedeutet, dass Achim sich dem schrecklichen Herrscher entgegenstellen muss. Für Achim beginnt ein Abenteuer voller Gefahren, doch er findet auf seinem Weg auch neue Freunde...
