This book is a great way to teach about the civil right movement. This book goes along with Martin Luther Kings speech. The vivid pictures in this book make it an amazing read and easy to keep up with. I would definitely recommend this book for reading aloud in a classroom setting. ( )

This book talks about Dr. Kings speech to quarter of a million people that were part of the march of jobs and freedom. This speech was delivered in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. In his speech he made it clear that its there time to rise from the dark of segregation to equal justices. He talked about a better America then what it was at the time. He wanted everyone to be equal no matter what color you our. Dr. Kings speech explain how he felt America should be and how we should basically act as a nation. This started the Civil Rights Movement. This book would be create in a history classroom because it shows you how it was back then with racism and how people were treated differently. Also show how blacks fought for their freedom of being equal. I can use this book to explain that it doesn't matter what color or cultural you come from because we are all equal. ( )
