This was not only my primer but my bible when I started quilting. No, it does not have beautiful photographs and I think she's wrong about the 3/8th inch seam. But it is beautifully written and a couple of decades later I still think about some of the things she had to say about quilting and art and the lives of women. This may not be a book for everyone, but if you're an English major, or someone who cares about the why as well as the how - I would highly recommend it. ( )
