I suspect I first bought this book because the illustrations were by the woman who drew Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, which I loved in grade-school (and still do). How could I not get this book about housekeeping?
But, it was really good then, and holds up well now.
And, it's funny. ( )

Dated advice, but written with Bracken's peerless humorous style. Illustrations by Hilary Knight add immeasurably to the book's appeal.
