This picture book tells the story of a squirrel named, Cyril, and a rat named Pat. The two are friends even thought they are not both rats or squirrels. They have a lot of fun and go on adventures together. No one else thinks they should be friends because they are not the same. In the end, Pat saves Cyril from a tricky situation with dog and they remain friends. This is a funny, sweet picture book for younger children. ( )

It's a case of mistaken identity when a park squirrel befriends a city rat. It's pretty cute, until it gets a bit dark and scary near the end. The rat brings an ick factor that I can't quite get past. Cyril is a better squirrel than I am a man, I guess. ( )

A beautiful tale of friendship. Where the best friends can’t see the differences between themselves. ( )
