( ) There is a famous figure of speech that explains this book quite well. It goes 'Jack of all trades, master of none'. Referencing from this handy book will give you a basic understanding of the necessary skills involved in hundreds of different subjects; and for some things such as making jam or jump starting a car that is all you really need; but, I would definitely not attempt practicing self defence or sailing a water craft without seeking further in depth tuition. This is still a very handy book to keep close by; and there are a couple of different ways I would use it: The first is as a solution to a problem such as wiring a ceiling light or mixing concrete. The second is as general reading to expand the mind in your spare time. The information is concise and generally speaking accurate, although newer domestic wiring regulations and other such evolutionary changes should also be taken into account when reading a book twenty five years old. no reviews | add a review
