Published posthumously, this series of short essays provides insight into contemplation of life and how it is lived. How it can go wrong, or right. As a neurologist, Sacks has quite a few interesting takes on neurological diseases and phenomena, including the transient nature of our own consciousness. It can be a bit of a dry read at times, but it's interesting and can easily kick off some personal contemplation worth having. ( ) Oliver Sacks final volume compiled when he knew he had but little time remaining. A collection of essays touching on a rich variety of his passions; science, health and what it means to be human. Some of these essays, dating back to 1987, were previously published. I find it a joy to read the writer Sacks and vicariously participate in his wide interests. no reviews | add a review
